ChapteredTerms of Service
Effective October 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Calvera HQ, LLC ("we", "us") for using the Chaptered app and website. By creating an account or using Chaptered you agree to them.
Your account
You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
Your content
You own the photos, videos, voice notes and words you add. You give us a limited license to store, process and display them only to operate Chaptered for you and the family members you invite (for example, making thumbnails and showing them in the app). Only add content you have the right to share, and only invite people you trust with your family's memories.
Family roles and web links
Parents (owners and co-parents) decide who can see and add to a child's journal, and can remove people at any time. If you turn on a family web link, anyone with the link can view the album until you turn it off.
Acceptable use
Don't use Chaptered to upload unlawful content, content that exploits anyone, or content you don't have rights to; don't try to access journals you weren't invited to, interfere with the service, or reverse-engineer it.
Chaptered Plus
Chaptered Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation; subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion ends when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If a subscription ends, everything you've added stays in your journal; Plus-only actions (like adding new video clips) pause until you subscribe again.
Availability
We work hard to keep Chaptered running and your memories safe, but the service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We recommend keeping your own copies of irreplaceable photos.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Calvera HQ, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; we'll post the new version here and, for material changes, let you know in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Chaptered or its content, and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
